Education: Attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI; Degree in Design and Architecture from Cranbrook Academy, Bloomfield Hills, MI; Fulbright Scholar to Italy.

Educator: Taught design at UCLA for nine years and product design to architects at Yale.

Professional: Worked five years with Eero Saarinen in Bloomfield Hills, MI; one year with Walter B. Ford in Detroit, MI; one year with Marco Zanuzo in Milano, Italy; 25 years with Henry Dreyfuss in California and New York ending as partner/owner. Since 1980, independent inventor, ergonomist, designer and consultant.

Partial List of Honors: Fellow of the Industrial Design Society of America; Honorary Royal Designer for Industry, Royal Society of Arts, London; Institute Honors, American Institute of Architecture; Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design; National Design Award, Smithsonian–Cooper Hewitt Museum of Art; two Honorary Doctorates, Distiguished Alumnus, and three Lifetime Achievement Awards.
